I love the bow tie. It's fashion's constant for men, always creating a touch of class or playfulness to any outfit. If you want attention, wear one to your holiday parties.
The hand-tying of the bow tie is essential - no clip-ons allowed. It's the organic, never-perfect way the bows fall that creates part of their charm and inspires the desire to pull longingly on one end of it at the end of the night to rip it off - and begin the best part of the night.
However, as simple as it would seem I still have issues tying my bow ties. I always think I have it down and end up in a panic in the mirror and late to my date. Below is the diagram that came with my first and it might as well be in braille.
In hopes of helping others this holiday season, here are the best guides I've found on how to tie the bow.
Diagrams are useless so it's best to watch a video.
This one was the most helpful to me...
But this one has a hot guy in it...
You can decide which to watch.
One suggestion that helped me was to wrap it around my thigh and practice tying it like I would tie my laces. Although I couldn't take it off and slip it around my neck, it taught me the mechanics of the tie from a better vantage point.
Below is one of my best students showing off his progress. Looks like he's been practicing.
Thanks, Milo. Now see me after class.

In my mind you are the best*_*
